About trekking
Trekking is the reason many people come to Nepal, and the teahouse system makes it unusually accessible: you walk from village to village and sleep in family-run lodges, so there is no need to carry a tent or food.
Routes range from three-day ridge walks near Pokhara to three-week circuits over 5,000 m passes. Altitude, not distance, is the thing to respect: itineraries should gain sleeping altitude gradually above 3,000 m.
