Can I book a tour on Recent Visits?#
No. Recent Visits is a discovery and enquiry site, not a booking platform. You send a quote request to an agency, the agency replies with a quote, and you agree the details and any payment directly with the agency. Nothing is charged on Recent Visits. See Quotes and agency enquiries.
Does a quote request commit me to anything?#
No. A quote request is only a question to the agency. Even accepting a quote on Recent Visits only tells the agency you are interested and shares your email and phone number with them; payment and confirmation are arranged with the agency.
Who can see my email address and phone number?#
When you send a request, the agency sees your name, trip details and message. Your email and phone number are shared with that agency only after you accept one of its quotes. They are never shared with other agencies, and agencies never see your AI conversation.
How does the AI assistant know what to say?#
It answers from the guides, treks, itineraries, travel guides, agency tours and published agency reviews on Recent Visits. On a traveller story page it can answer questions about that story. It can still be wrong, so check visas, permits, prices and safety with official sources and the agency. See The AI travel assistant.
Why does the assistant stop after two answers?#
Visitors who are not signed in get two written replies. After that you are asked to create a free account, and your conversation is kept and moves to your account. Signed-in travellers have a higher daily limit.
What does Featured mean?#
Agencies pay a flat fee to be listed. Featured is a separate paid placement: among tours and agencies that already fit your trip, Featured ones are shown first and always labelled. Paying never lets in something that does not fit your trip, and it does not change reviews or ratings. See How we make money.
What does Verified partner mean?#
Recent Visits staff checked the agency's identity and licence. It is not a guarantee about any particular trip, so read the reviews and compare quotes.
Are the tour prices final?#
No. Prices on tour pages are indicative "from" prices supplied by the agency. The agency's quote is what counts, and quotes are valid until the date they state.
I did not get my sign-in email. What now?#
Check spam or promotions, check the address, and use Resend after the 60-second countdown. Links and codes expire after one hour. If you opened a link in a different browser and it failed, use the 6-digit code from the same email. See Accounts, sign-in and profile.
How do I delete my account or my data?#
Sign in, open My trips and choose Delete my account at the bottom of the page. You must have signed in within the last 15 minutes and type DELETE to confirm. You then have 14 days to change your mind (sign in and choose Keep my account); after that your profile, conversations, saved trips and quote requests are deleted. Photos and stories we paid for stay on the site under the credit you choose, and reviews stay as "Anonymous traveller". See Delete your account and privacy basics and the privacy policy. There is no self-service data export yet: email privacy@recent-visit.com (opens in a new tab) from the address you signed up with and we complete the request within 30 days.
How do I share my own story?#
Create an account and choose Share your story. Staff review every story before it is published. See Stories, experiences and reviews.
Can I ask several agencies about the same trip?#
Yes. On an itinerary page, Request quotes for this itinerary lets you pick up to three agencies and sends them the day-by-day plan. Each agency replies separately and you can compare their quotes side by side in My trips. See Quotes and agency enquiries.
How do I accept or decline a quote?#
Sign in, open My trips, select the request and use Accept quote or Decline on a quote that is still open. Accepting tells the agency you are interested and shares your email and phone number with it; it is not a payment. You can ask questions in the message box first.
Why can I not open my quote?#
Quotes are only visible when you are signed in with the account that sent the request, the account that owns the assistant conversation it came from, or an account with the same email address as the request. Sign in with the right address and try again.
How do I write a review of an agency?#
Open the agency page and choose Write a review (you must be signed in). Give a 1 to 5 star rating and write at least 40 characters. Staff read it before it appears. You can add photos and optional proof after you submit. See Agencies, ratings and writing a review.
Why is there no Write a review button on an agency page?#
You cannot review an agency you work for, a demo listing, or an agency that has not yet set up its account, and you can only review each agency once. The page tells you which applies.
Can I save or share a trip from the assistant?#
Yes. Use Save & share trip on the trip board to get a link that anyone with it can open. Saved trips are not listed in search engines. Signed-in travellers find them under Saved trips on My trips. See The AI travel assistant.
Do I have to accept cookies?#
No. The banner asks only about first-party analytics ("Allow analytics" or "No thanks"). Signing in uses necessary cookies. Ads on editorial pages load only after you accept non-essential cookies.
Can I be paid for my story or photos?#
Authors who live in Nepal can receive fees for Editor's picks and for photos Recent Visits buys, and a share of the advertising income on their story pages. Other authors earn badges and credit. Set where you live on your author profile and see your balance at My trips, Earnings. The terms are in the contributor terms.
Can an agency pay to change its reviews?#
No. Reviews are written by travellers and read by staff before they appear. An agency's plan or sponsorship has no input to reviews or ratings, and a review is not removed for being critical. Agencies can reply publicly once.
How does my agency get listed?#
Search for your agency on the List your agency page and claim it, or apply if it is not listed. You send your details and documents, staff verify by phone, and an owner invitation goes to your official email. See the Agency guide.
Do agencies pay to be on Recent Visits?#
Agencies pay a flat listing fee, as explained on How we make money. The plans are shown on the List your agency page; ask partners@recent-visit.com (opens in a new tab) about the terms that apply to your agency.
Can I add the assistant to my agency's website?#
Yes, if you are an agency owner. The website widget gives your own site a chat assistant, tour list and quote form that answer only from your agency's data. See the SDK and developer guide.
Does the widget replace the quote request on Recent Visits?#
No. Quote requests sent from your website through the widget arrive in the same Leads list in the agency portal, and follow the same rules: the traveller's email and phone stay hidden until they accept your quote.
Where do I report a problem with a story, a review or a listing?#
Use Report on a story, Report this review on a review, or contact us about an agency or tour.
